Business Intelligence Can Improve Outcomes, Lower Costs

There are a number of ways business intelligence can advance the healthcare industry, including improving patient outcomes and business operations. The May 2012 print issue of Healthcare Finance News discusses how healthcare organizations are using business intelligence to improve their bottom line.
WPC’s Eric Mueller, expert in revenue cycle management and IT strategic planning points out that timely access to information is a critical factor to a BI system.
According to Mueller, “BI is about making good decisions with accurate information in as close to real time as possible. That is important because if the information in front of you is 40 to 60 days old, that isn’t business intelligence, it’s business history.”
